Name Origin & History

The name Wareemba means "place where sweet water meets salt water", it is an area sitting between Abbotsford and Russell Lea on the eastern shore of Hen & Chicken Bay and was only declared it's own suburb in 1993. Consisting of only 13 Streets it would have be the smallest suburb in the Inner West and maybe even Sydney for that matter.
